The first qualifying round is fast approaching, especially for the Mathematical Olympiad and Physics Olympiad.
The Mathematics Olympiads offer students a unique opportunity to share their enthusiasm for mathematics with other young people from all over Switzerland. In addition, workshops and camps are organized to enable them to further develop their knowledge and skills. Participation requires little prior mathematical knowledge. An interest in logic puzzles and a flair for formulating mathematical questions are all that’s required.
The first round of the Mathematical Olympiad takes place from September 1 to 30, 2024, in the form of a 75-minute examination, which can therefore be integrated into a double teaching period. Individual participation is also possible.
The Physics Olympiad is a competition for maturity students who want to learn more. The aim is to encourage young people with an interest in physics to get together around a common interest. The best students go on to compete in the European or International Physics Olympiads.
The first round of the Physics Olympiad runs until September 30, 2024, in the form of a 40-minute exam, which can therefore be integrated into a teaching period. Individual participation is also possible.
Both the Mathematical Olympiad and Physics Olympiad are members of the Science Olympiad umbrella organization. Many other disciplines are also represented.
